Flowers In Her Hair...

“If you’re going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair…”
This photo shoot with MollyAnn Photography is one of my favorite. It was one of those shoots where I felt “right” in what I was doing. I costume a lot…but I don’t always connect to the character or feel of the shoot. This one was spot on. MollyAnn is a joy to work with. She’s great with light and angles and finding the perfect hippie van!!!

The clothes I’m wearing are from my high school days in the 90’s. In these days there was a huge 60’s reemergence of music, shows, clothing and accessories. I lived it as much as I could. I’ve always connected to the hitch hiking world traveler….playing my guitar for music…enlightenment…
“If you’re going to San Francisco
You’re gonna meet some gentle people there…”

I tie dyed this dress myself🙂 I love that the van is in the background of this shot.
The land we used for this shoot was owned by the nicest lady! She kept bringing us food and drinks and made sure we were taken care of! She loved watching MollyAnn make the magic…I had a blast with both ladies.
“For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there…”

Natural light is amazing in these images. She really does blow me away with her talent! She also upcycled the dress I’m wearing!
“In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair…”

That sunset……
“All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion, people in motion…”

I’m wrapped in a flowered, fringed shawl that belonged to my great great great aunt. I’ve tried for years to work this into photoshoots. It’s old and falling apart. Smells like history.
“For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there…”
