I performed in this costume at Castle McCulloch located in Jamestown,NC. They host The Beer And Fear Bash yearly which attracts a few thousand wild people.

The wig is my most favorite part. I get a ton of compliments on it,to this day,anytime I wear it. It’s also lasted YEARS. Most wigs die a horrible death within a year or so in my life…I’m rough. Pleasure Wigs are amazing though,highly recommend them!

I got to work with the Spanking Circus at this particular event. I found these awesome fingerless gloves at Hot Topic and decided they were perfect! Haha! I added a striped skirt and a little top hat to complete the look. My area to Go Go dance in was a Devilish theme. So I grew my horns out later

Dancing with floggers is maybe one of my favorites things haha. It was a good time!

"Freedom's Just Another Word..."

“Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin’ for a train
And I’s feelin’ near as faded as my jeans…”

These photos are taken in the tiny town of Jamestown,NC at an abandoned gas station. It’s beautiful and I love driving by it! We waited till golden hour to run out and get these shots. It was STILL like 100 degrees out!

I’ve also wanted a photo with my obsession…yes it’s Coke…caffeine and sugar water

This top and skirt both came from the clearance rack at Aeropostle. There weren’t many cute clothing shops up in Blowing Rock. You get thrift stores,Rue 21,Aeropostle… or you pay too much. We know I’m cheap!

Sparklers are a blast to play with in photos. They just look really cool!

This was my fourth shoot with Meagan Hamilton Photography. She is a creative genius who has an amazing eye. She’s also just one super cool person!

The Night Circus

“The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.”

Keymoon Photography and I spent a fun day shooting on a carousel in  Jamestown ,NC. I had borrowed this little guy from a friend specifically to shoot with. My friend ended up giving him to me as a gift I named my little man Sander Cohen. I may be too obsessed with Bioshock haha.

The building behind me,Jamestown Friends Meeting House, is 190 years old and filled with history. It was used by the Quakers of this area at various points in time as a church and a school. The old cemetery lies behind it…many of the graves stones broken…

“I prefer to remain unenlightened, to better appreciate the dark.”

This costume is made using a longer Peplum top as a dress and then layering 3 petticoats under it. I attached another petticoat at the back to make it fuller and to tie in the red from the mini top hat. I added gloves,thigh highs,a necklace and used black eyeliner to make myself into a mannequin as well.

For a first attempt at “dummy/doll” makeup..I think I did pretty good!

"And All The Clocks Were Striking Thirteen..."

“It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.”

This photoshoot around downtown Winston-Salem,NC with Julie Jackson was so much fun! She is an amazingly beautiful as a person and photographer. Her and her assistant (aka her hubby) are so great to go out and adventure with. She has such a creative eye,knows great spots and is just zero stress. It’s like hanging out with a friend!

I was in Greensboro for this shoot and has very little costuming materials around me. We wanted something dystopian…steamy….but I had left my favorite goggles elsewhere. I shopped around,trying to find something really cheap but found no options. I went to Wendy’s for a frosty….and my frosty became my goggles. Paint the lids,sew on some .99 elastic…boom. There is nothing easier.

Super fast,super easy accessories for cheap. I can always find Nerf guns at Goodwill. They range from .50-$8 depending on size. Add some paint and you’re golden. I had one day to do this step so I didn’t get too involved with it…because it had to be dry by the next morning !

Not too shabby for last minute!

The clothing worn in this shoot is all from the thrift store. It consists of a buckled strap tank and two skirts. The ruffled longer skirt I pinned behind the shorter one to give an illusion of a petticoat/bustle. The thigh highs I always purchase at Spirit Halloween after season for cheap. I have an endless supply of striped leg wear The necklace is simply a piece of lace tied around my neck.

Downtown Winston truly has some amazing spots for a Dystopian feel photoshoot! I think we took advantage of as many as possible that day!
